    About the Retreat:

    We embark upon the road of healing to find that this path is equally challenging as it is bountiful. Each step taken is an act of love for the self, the earth we walk on and for future generations.

    Rooted Waters provides intimate ceremonies in a beautiful environment. We make a priority of ensuring that each individual feels safe and cared for throughout the process. Every ceremony is unique, woven with song, prayer, ritual and integrative practices.

    With traditional training as well as modern therapeutic counselling training, we offer a safe space honouring the Bwete culture, local traditional culture and our own ancestral cultures. Iboga speaks to us in a language understood by our personal, individual psyches, through the subconscious heart and mind. As your guides, we work with a variety of tools and teachings that we have gathered to support your process.

    Overview of Experience:

    Preparation is integral to ceremony. Life has a way of naturally preparing us for the great events it offers along the way. Conscious and active preparation helps to deepen a trust in the process and opens us to the medicine. Purification of the self is a key part of preparation. As we peel away layers we become sensitized to our subtle bodies and to the medicine.

    The experience of being in a safe setting to revisit ones wounds or to explore deeper vulnerable layers of ones being is foundational to healing. An intense experience without space for integration can become traumatic and then held in the body’s memory. This can lead to dis-ease both mentally, physically and spiritually. It is also the case that an intense or potent experience within a safely held space, with a focus on integration can become a source of healing and growth.

    Ceremony has acted for thousands of years as this crucible. A space where curated intensity can be our ally. It is our intention to create this safe container for you to surrender into your experience.

    With the powerful insights and experiences that ceremony offers, it is imperative to give yourself time and space to allow them to arrive and settle into your whole being. A re-membering of the self or the new self. The mind may re-member in different ways than the body and the spirit. There are many ways in which we can support the welcoming of these gifts so we may walk into the world with newly embodied wisdom.

    Just as preparation and ceremony require commitment, so to does integration. It takes time, courage, effort and dedication to bring our many parts back into the centre to cultivate lasting transformation. In our time together we will begin the process through creativity, bodywork and ritual as well as follow up sessions in the weeks following.

    Intake Process:

    Our process begins with an extensive intake form found on our website. Once the form is received we set up a phone call to chat in depth about intentions, needs, current health etc. There is usually at least 1 other call to finalize answering all of the questions. Then a couple other forms are sent out which help dive deeper into understanding the needs/intentions of the guest.

    How does this Center source medicine?:

    At Rooted Waters we hold the well-being of the plant and the peoples harvesting the plant in high regard. We chose to buy from Iboga farms who harvest the plant in this sustainable manner allowing the plant and community around the plant to continue to grow and thrive. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with this plant and to support the farmers and multiple organizations that protect the future of Iboga and the Indigenous Bwete peoples of Western Africa.
