Therapist InfoAbout Me:
My love of psychology began early in life; I was always interested in understanding why suffering occurs, both physical and mental, and how to reduce it. I grew up in a challenging bicultural environment where we spoke multiple languages, experienced two distinct cultures, and practiced multiple religions. For me, formal and experiential education has been a source of strength and courage to endure and overcome suffering. Coming from a multicultural home, foreign travel was always a must. I now use travel as an educational experience to better understand how humanity interacts with green environments, cultures, politics, and most importantly to learn how each society thrives. Throughout my life I have met many internationally seasoned friends that are healers such as Psychotherapists, Physicians, Registered Dietitians, Alternative Health Practitioners, Acupuncturists, Energy Masters, Priests, Shamans, Curanderos, Medicine Men. Little did I know I was being mentored by sage minds.
When traveling internationally, I collaborate with complimentary health practitioners so that I may better understand how to integrate western and eastern health practice. I spent a year traveling in Latin America where I learned about shamanic healing with plant medicines in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. I consider myself an integrative behavioral medicine provider with a passion for holistic health. Over time, I have come to realize all of my personal and professional experiences have led me to focus my work on Transpersonal and Depth Psychology.
A few personal things about me: I love my family, spending the day in nature, dancing, music and yoga. These activities nourish me.
Please visit my website for more information about my journey into the world of healing and psychedelic therapy.Description of Services:I offer my clients a safe, secure, and confidential container to begin healing by understanding the present concerns and how they are linked to a traumatic event that we will correct through processing and integrating stressful concerns. When working with me, I provide a tremendous amount of patience and therefore take your lead, never pushing you too far, though moving us forward at productive pace to ensure progress is made on agreed goals. Using my professional experience and training, along with my psychic intuition, we work together to better understand where you need help most. I share practical tools and exercises needed to continue your journey with or without me to reduce suffering.I'm a firm believer that one must integrate healing by looking at a person whole. To facilitate healing and change, I consider all variables (micro & macro) and the relationship between each variable that includes: spirit, mind, body, environment, culture. In my experience, if you are suffering in one variable, other variables will soon suffer. To help you, I use a treatment orientation suitable for your unique energy and circumstance. I serve individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages, cultures, religions, relational orientations, and sexual orientations. I am a neutral and objective witness to each individual experience. My therapeutic approach is informed by my years working for large healthcare systems, community clinics, wellness centers, as an educator, and now through my private practice. My current focus is providing personalized care through my own independent health practice that I call Transforma Therapy. A therapy of complete transformation. I also provide psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies remotely, in San Diego, CA and Baja México. The psychedelic medicines that I am currently working with are Ketamine, Psilocybin, 5-MeO-DMT, and Ibogaine. I provide psychedelic integration and preparation consultations to my counseling clients and professionals wanting additional support for their clients. I love supporting licensed health professionals with psychedelic educational training and development as an educational facilitator at Journey Clinical, and through my own private practice.Credentials & Certifications: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Our ProcessOverview of Experience:
Our first interaction will be a discovery call to learn how we may work together. If a good fit, I will send you a digital intake to complete before we begin. Once I have reviewed the intake forms, we will schedule the preparation session and that includes the "flight instructions" for the psychedelic-assisted therapy and for the integration session to follow. The preparation session is also a time to ask any questions clients have. Preparation sessions vary by client from 1-3 sessions. One prep session is required, others are optional and not required unless the assessment requires more than one. Once prepared for your psychedelic therapy session, we ensure you are fully prepared and have our psychedelic session. Post-psychedelic session, we follow the instructions given in the prep session to ensure reentry into the ordinary state of consciousness is supported with ease. The integration session is scheduled between 24-72 hours after the psychedelic therapy. One integration session with me is required, the others are optional if you have your own therapist or coach. I do make recommendations to share with your other providers if needed. I am always happy to continue supporting client in their integration work.Intake Process:
I will detail the steps I take to ensure you are a candidate for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
Step 1: Discovery call to learn if you are able to move on to step 2.
Step 2: Referral to medical health provider to clear you for psychedelic therapy
Step 3: Intake forms completed by client
Step 4: Psychiatric Assessment
Step 5: Approval process (cases are reviewed to ensure maximum safety)
Once we have gone through these five steps, we will know how many preparation sessions, psychedelic sessions, and integration are recommended. As we begin to work together, more sessions may be recommended. All clients are reviewed case by case.
